compliance-wheel-stop
A recent article in the Gold Coast Bulletin highlights the importance of visibility when selecting products to use in your carpark. Unfortunately, an elderly lady didn't notice concrete wheel stops in a carpark and sustained multiple injuries as a result of a fall. She is now suing Gold Coast City Council as she feels that the concrete wheel stops were not visible enough and blended into the carpark environment.

The documents said the council was negligent for "failing to take a reasonable care to ensure that there were reflectors positioned on the bollard", failing to ensure the bollard was painted or otherwise presented in a fashion distinct from the surface of the car park, and "failing to maintain the car park including the bollards so that they were readily distinguishable from the surface of the car park".

Barrier Group's Compliance Wheel Stops are available in Hi-vis Yellow for standard car parks and Disability Blue for disabled car parks. Both of these colours provide a high standard of contrast to asphalt and concrete. The blanking plugs on the top of the wheel stops are also available with reflective tops to aid visibility in low light conditions.
