The Problem

GPC Asia Pacific approached Barrier Group to assist with a factory fitout at their new Broadmeadows site. Safety of employees and asset protection of company property, along with the building itself, were paramount to the planning stages of their new site. It is crucial that all the complexities of a new warehouse or factory fitout are considered and actioned accordingly. Consultation with experts in this field should be undertaken prior to any operations commencing.

The Solution

As a leading provider of comprehensive safety solutions for industrial warehouse and distribution centres, Barrier Group offers factory fitouts that specifically cater to the diverse safety needs of each business. Our team of experienced site consultants and installation experts were able to fully assess the unique requirements of GPC Asia Pacifics new Broadmeadows site and offer standard products along with ad hoc and customised variations to suit. This included a variety of pedestrian and vehicle traffic control barriers and speed humps, low clearance height bars for overhead hazards and precision factory floor line marking.

The Challenges

The conveyor system GPC Asia Pacific uses to move product from point to point is attached to the ceiling beams of the warehouse structure and hangs low enough to cause a potential issue for forklifts with raised loads passing underneath. A low clearance height bar was able to be suspended in front of the conveyor unit that provides both a visual height warning and a physical warning should a vehicle connect with the bar. A common industry complaint about warehouse and factory floor line marking is the application technique by some traditional line marking machines provides a thicker application, often with air bubbles, leading to a less long wearing finish. High traffic vehicle use can cause the paint to dissipate over time. Barrier Group’s line marking team were able to thoroughly clean the area, tape out the required pathways and use a roller technique for a flatter and smoother finish. Not only does this provide the extra longevity GPC Asia Pacific were looking for, but also an aesthetically pleasing, extra crisp, streamlined finish.

Client Response

I have been very happy with the service provided by Barrier Group. We had an extensive range of line marking and metalworks to complete and Barrier Group provided a very competitive quote. Robbie, Dane, David and the crew were extremely professional and efficient. Look forward to continuing to work with the Barrier Group team.
